I’m overjoyed to be a part of the amazing staff at Olander School for Project Based Learning. Immersing myself in Olander's incredible culture and community as an Assistant Principal and Gifted and Talented Coordinator is an amazing opportunity. Through the collaboration with the staff we will undoubtedly continue to be able to provide authentic and rich learning opportunities for our students. My sixteen plus years as an elementary educator has provided me with the most challenging and demanding work experience I’ve ever had, yet, unquestionably the most rewarding and satisfying.
While I originally hail from Long Island, New York, I have lived in Fort Collins since 2000 and am happy to call it home. I earned a degree in Physics from Miami University, my teaching degree from Metro State, and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Colorado State University. I’m a firm believer in the importance of lifelong learning. I recently added a Gifted Education Specialist endorsement to my license.
As an educator, I've taught second through fifth grade working as a classroom teacher, interventionist, and GT teacher. I've previously also supported students and teachers as an assistant principal, reading specialist, ELD designee, MTSS coordinator, PLC facilitator, summer school coordinator, interim principal and a teacher coach. Along my journey I've worked at Dream Catcher, Liberty, Windsor Charter, Rice, and Bethke. No matter my position or location, helping kids succeed and infusing joy in the learning process has always been my goal.
In my free time I love traveling, spending time with family and friends, paddle-boarding, snowboarding, hiking with my
dogs, reading, live music, and generally enjoying this beautiful state and all it has to offer.
I believe deeply in the importance of the role of rapport in learning and in life and look forward to building those connections with the Olander community.
